ZESTRON to Educate Designers about Cleaning at PCB West 2010
Manassas, VA - September 21, 2010 - ZESTRON, the worldwide leading provider of high precision cleaning products and services for the electronics manufacturing industry, is pleased to announce that it will present and exhibit at the PCB West 2010. This UP Media Group organized event will be held September 28 - 29, 2010, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
"To prevent certain failure mechanisms and ensure the long-term reliability of electronic assemblies, cleaning is an essential step which should be taken into consideration, even during the board design phase. As the industry leader in precision cleaning, ZESTRON is excited to, for the first time ever, have the opportunity to present to hundreds of designers and share some of the challenges we have seen and addressed while working with manufacturers," says Dr. Harald Wack, ZESTRON. "As board geometries are becoming more intricate, gaining a mutual understanding of all the SMT production processes can only benefit the industry in the long run."
Apart from exhibiting on the show floor, Umut Tosun, M.S.Chem.Eng., Application Technology Manager, ZESTRON America, will present "What PCB Designers Must Know about Post-Assembly Cleaning Challenges" on Wednesday, September 29, from 3 until 4 pm. This presentation provides insight to failure mechanisms such as electrochemical migration and leakage currents as well as possible impurities that may affect the reliability of the end product. The lecture will also address why recent board design trends and certain component types may present cleaning challenges.
