OEM/Strategic Account Sales Manager

Alpha Assembly Solutions, a MacDermid Performance Solutions Business and a world leader in the development, manufacturing, and sales of innovative materials used in the assembly electronics, industrial joining and Photo Voltaic market places, is seeking a OEM/Strategic Account Sales Manager. Preferred location is Northern California/Silicon Valley.

The general purpose of this position is to:
1. Develop, manage, and support assigned key and target Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Strategic customers.
2. Identify both established and next generation Electronics market leaders and establish strong working relationship between Alpha and the OEM accounts.
3. Focus on obtaining Alpha material approvals in order to grow Alpha’s market share at assigned OEM / Strategic accounts and their EMS partners.
4. Overall Objective is Sales revenue and Margin dollar growth through material set approvals at the key OEM & Strategic accounts


  • Key account manager for assigned and target Americas and Global based OEM’s / Contract Manufactures where appropriate.
  • Develop a structured approach to the key account planning process for the assigned and targeted strategic customers.
  • Develop contacts and relationships at these companies with the appropriate people.
  • Identify, investigate and recommend “next on” up and coming companies that Alpha should be engaging.
  • Define who the key players are at each of the assigned OEM’s / Contract Manufacturers (CM).
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the customer team that is responsible for specifying or influencing electronic assembly materials via personal visits along with other means of communication where applicable.
  • Act as customer advocate and provide customer teams with the appropriate information and level of support required to add value.
  • Support qualification and specification efforts at the OEM / CM level. Manage and Coordinate these efforts with the appropriate Alpha staff.
  • Communicate and coordinate key account activities with the Alpha team – marketing, R&D, executive staff, sales, and others as necessary.
  • Understand relationships between the OEM and Alpha accounts and their products.
  • Develop strategies to support the overall supply chain and leverage this information in developing new business opportunities to support our overall growth of the Alpha accounts.
  • Coordinate with other MacDermid Performance Solutions (MPS) division business units to ensure MPS group promotion and continuity at the OEM / CM.
  • Provide feedback and input into marketing group and R&D functions as market intelligence is gathered. Participate in the R&D project prioritization process as required.
  • Support problem solving efforts at the customer as needed.
  • Present Alpha technical product data and initiate product evaluations at key and target customers.
  • Support CVSS (Customer Value Six Sigma) projects and programs as well as the Alpha Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Participate in technical marketing activities, including trade shows, industry events, technical papers and articles, etc.
  • Facilitate any required support from the Alpha team where we can provide added value to the OEM. This also includes the support of their contract manufacturing partners when necessary.
  • Provide technical training and assistance as well as any other value add support as required in order to advance and enhance the customer relationship with the ultimate goal of the organization.


  • Bachelor's degree from a four year university in a technical or management discipline; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and education.
  • Strong knowledge of the Electronic PCB Assembly process regarding soldering technologies is preferred. Semiconductor and or PC Fabrication experience a bonus.
