There are a variety of ways to place orders on the SMTA Web site, membership applications, event registrations, bookstore orders, pay-per-download articles in the Knowledge Base, and donations to the Hutchins Grant.
The SMTA Web site is encrypted and secure. The server uses SSL (secure sockets layers), the most up-to-date on-line ordering security available. All of the personal information you enter at this site, including your contact and payment info, will be encrypted with SSL. You can safely order on-line any time.
While placing an on-line order, you will receive confirmation during the checkout process of the order you have placed, and an additional email confirmation will be sent to you following the process.
Shipping and Handling Charges
For any material purchases, such as publications in the bookstore, please allow 2-5 business days to process your order. Most shipments within the continental U.S. arrive in 3-5 business days. Depending on inbound customs, shipping internationally may take between 2-6 weeks.
For bookstore orders, please note the following:
- Transactions within the state of Minnesota are subject to state sales tax of 6.5%.
- Transactions within US/Canada do not incur shipping or handling charges, and shipments are made using UPS standard ground service or standard US mail service.
- Transactions outside US/Canada incur a shipping charge of $80USD for the first pound plus $11 each additional pound. SMTA uses Fed Ex and UPS for international distribution.
If you need a bookstore order faster, you may supply your own FEDEX shipping information during the checkout process, or call SMTA at 952-920-7682 for any special handling requests.
Payment
Orders on-line must be completed with credit card payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. If you require payment terms by purchase orders, mail or fax your official signed, numbered, and dated purchase order along with the completed order form. We cannot accept purchase orders over the Web. Be sure to identify an accounts payable contact name and phone number with purchase order information, as we cannot process your purchase order otherwise.

If anything you receive from us doesn't meet with your full approval, we will make it up to you by exchange, credit, or a refund. Merchandise returns are acceptable if the materials are in resale condition.
