Duties and responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer provides technical support to mechanical, cable and wave soldering processes in an EMS environment and is the backup support for surface mount technology processes.
Is able to review document packages supplied by the customer and ensures adequate processes and equipment are established and maintained for use in supporting manufacturing cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
Analyzes the manufacturing process through data collection, works with operators/supervisors, day to day problem solving, and provides root cause analysis for any process or quality issues.
Provide recommendations and enhancements to manufacturing processes to improve quality.
May provide training and knowledge to operators, as well as stay current with new and future technologies that pertain to these processes.
Have an understanding of relative industry standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001.
Major responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Assist in labor quotes to support new and existing products from customers. Follow-up production of current product, and engineering changes. Perform Design For Manufacturability (DFM) reviews. Provide input for tooling and fixture in production for efficient manufacturing processes. Order tooling or services to optimize manufacturing methods. Assist in creating process flow routing in production. Create work instructions and visual aids from customer documents, standard manufacturing methods or a customized process. Suggest changes and methods to improve quality, cost and efficiency. Setup operation procedures for various manufacturing equipment.
Requirements: 5 years of manufacturing experience in related or similar field. BS Engineering degree U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
