Job Description The ideal candidate for this position is a self-driven individual with a passion for manufacturing. Responsible for running SMT equipment such as stencil printers (DEK), pick and place machine (Mydata), and reflow ovens (Vitronics-Soltec); this position is at the heart of the assembly process. Qualifications High school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good eye/hand coordination (can work with small parts and assemblies). Ability to read and speak English fluently. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions and procedure manuals. Responsibilities Operate surface mount device placement equipment, reflow ovens, printing equipment, electronic test equipment, and basic hand tool. Ready the machine and run jobs until complete as indicated by production schedule. Tend to machines by quickly and efficiently loading or replenishing feeders with reels of components, entering programs into automated placement machinery, setting up support fixtures, and prepping multiple assembly lines for next shop order. Mount components such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis, panel or printed circuit board. Inspect populated boards to ensure components are in correct location and orientation per work instructions. Troubleshooting component placement and machine issues. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Determine ways to constantly improve safety, quality and productivity. Troubleshoot the surface mount machines, reading equipment procedures, and other related documents. Maintain components in stocking locations as required, promptly returning after each use and always observing proper ESD, MSL, and contamination prevention handling practices. Observe safe production practices by only operating machines with all safety doors closed and with all safety guards in place.
