Abstract: Surface mount products are becoming increasingly more complex, and require a high degree of automation and control to allow successful assembly.
The future of the industry will be lead by companies who successfully master each process and apply the correct level of control to each piece of equipment.
The purpose of this paper is to identify the key processes, establish the level of control that can be applied and then how to successfully automate not only the process but also the method of monitoring each process.
