A VISION OF ELECTRONICS IN THE 21st CENTURY

Abstract: Electronics will be leading industry in the 21st century from the viewpoints of production, employment, and prosperity, which sustain human society. The key words for the electronics are environment, networking, individualization and knowledge. A key concept of electronic products featuring them is wearable or “intangible” electronic assistants. In order to realize it from the device side, material processing for dimension reduction, “seamless interconnection” from semiconductor level to board level, and “System In-a-Board; SIB” approach will be the key technologies.
