SMTA China North Call for papers:
SMTA China solicits technical papers for presentation in either the Technology Conference or the complimentary Vendor Conference. Inclusion in the Technology Conference requires strictly technical papers with no commercial content or company promotion (complimentary presentation slot for speakers) subject to final acceptance by the Technical Advisory Committee of SMTA China. Papers for the Vendor Conference require a strong technical content, but also allow inclusion of a minority of commercial content during the presentation as well as the distribution of a company profile, product catalogs and give-away souvenirs (company sponsorship of presentation slot for speakers required) and remain subject to final acceptance by the Technical Advisory Committee of SMTA China. It is suggested to address all papers including abstract and speaker biography for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings in both Chinese and English. All papers (powerpoint) are suggested to present in Chinese to facilitate better audience interaction.
If you or your company wishes to share pertinent information with the highly qualified audience of SMTA China please submit your abstract and speaker biography to Michael Wong by email to peggy@smta.org. Please include your name, job title, company affiliation, and all pertinent contact information as well as your choice of Technology Conference or Vendor Conference for your paper and the choice of date(s) of your presentation.

Certified SMT Engineer Course and Examination in Shenzhen
24-26 August 2008
SMTA Certification has become the electronic assembly
industry's most respected sign of process excellence. Certification is
one way to enhance your stature in our industry. Your certification can
also be a marketing tool for your company. They will be able to proudly
say that they have team members who are SMTA certified.
The SMTA Certification program is a
three-day offering consisting of a 1.5 day
refresher workshop on topics in SMT
processes. The program concludes with
both open and closed book examinations
on days two and three. The workshop, as
well as the exam, assumes that the
participant has at least 2-3 years of SMT
experience and has an educational
background equivalent to two years or more
of college in a technical discipline. This is
not an entry level program. Basic algebra
will be used in the workshop and
examination. The examination is
"competitive" in that it requires both written
answers and calculations. The intent of this
procedure is to enable the students to
establish competitive credentials as
"Certified" by the SMTA in SMT Assembly
Processes.
