I worked very closely within the automotive and medical industries while employed at Vishay. Over the past 10 years I have been heavily involved in the electronic components testing industries. I have worked with OEM, CM and Independent Distributors to mitigate their counterfeit issues by providing complete solutions from all levels in the supply chain. I am an avid traveler and has developed many close relationships in the electronic industries that has allowed me to recognize and witness the major issues that many companies are facing with counterfeit components. This has given me an edge and allows me to develop different process and test methodologies to combat the counterfeit issues.

Membership Appeal

Competition in electronics manufacturing is fierce, especially with many OEM’s choosing to produce their products outside the United States.  How does a company stay successful in this market?  A company keeping abreast of current manufacturing challenges and solutions finds themselves in a perfect position to succeed.  The ever changing manufacturing market has a very unique set of challenges.  Participating members of the SMTA find opportunities to excel in the market of electronics manufacturing by sharing valuable knowledge and experience.
The value of participation in a local chapter of the SMTA is immeasurable for an individual.  Beyond networking with leaders in the electronics manufacturing community, members have access to technical knowledge relevant to manufacturing that could take years to acquire on one’s own.  Utilizing the knowledge and expertise of local industry professionals often enables quick solutions to new challenges, unique perspectives for planning and execution in business development, and often skipping altogether, unforeseen issues that may arise in a new process.  And it goes without saying that the benefits to the individual pass right along to their employer.  Corporations gain from their employee’s knowledge and experiences.
We’ve all participated in groups, clubs, or drives.  Participation in these groups leads to new relationships, business opportunities, learning something new, and a sense of giving back to the community.  The Tampa Bay SMTA is now accepting new members and volunteers.  Participation in the Tampa Bay SMTA Chapter provides immeasurable value to individuals and corporations.  Join now!  Know your local manufacturing community and start utilizing your resources today.
